Volunteer Coordinator - Internship for Breast Cancer Nonprofit

Volunteer Coordinator

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and attend Operations Committee meetings
  • recruiting volunteers to the organization
  • assist with advertising for volunteers on different platforms
  • Placing Volunteers in different roles based on their qualifications
  • Arranging for appropriate training for volunteers when needed
  • maintaining accurate contact information and records of all Volunteer participation at events.
  • Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they are satisfied and well-placed
  • Disseminate information for upcoming actions and events

Requirements

  • Preferred Bachelors in business administration, human resources, social studies or relevant field ( or student)
  • Experience in volunteering locally and/or internationally
  • Experience in recruiting through various channels (handshake, sharedetroit)
  • Working knowledge of databases and MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Able to communicate effectively with diverse people
  • Excellent organizational and team coordination abilities
  • Excellent leadership skills, A pleasant, outgoing personality
  • 2-6 hours of work a week that can be committed to the nonprofit
