Infrastructure Intern

Toyoda Gosei North America (located in Troy, MI) has an opening for an Infrastructure Server Summer Intern. The Infrastructure Intern will assist Corporate Information Systems (CIS) in maintaining server environments, including monitoring, updates, and troubleshooting while gaining hands-on experience with server technologies and documentation
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor server performance, health, and availability to ensure optimal operation.
- Assist in routine server maintenance tasks, including updates, patching, and upgrades.
- Support the deployment, configuration, and testing of physical and virtual servers.
- Help implement and monitor backup and disaster recovery processes.
- Troubleshoot server-related issues and escalate complex problems as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of server configurations, changes, and procedures.
- Collaborate with IT teams on infrastructure improvement projects.
- Learn and apply best practices in server security and performance optimization.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Minimum of 2 years of undergraduate studies completed
- Coursework toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Cyber Security, Computer Information Systems, or a related field
- General technical background in networking and computer information systems
- Basic understanding of server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux).
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Excellent organization and communication skills required.
- Highly analytical and detail-oriented.
