Horticulture Intern-Wilmington & Alapocas State Parks
This is a hands-on leadership role with outstanding learning and experience opportunities working with Maintenance staff, with support from Programming and Management. The position will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance, improvements, and overall care of the landscape beds throughout both parks.

- Wilmington and Alapocas Run State Parks - Wilmington, Delaware
Term of Service
- 12 weeks - summer
- Full-time, 30-35 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Maintenance, planting, and other activities related to flora of the park
- Maintain existing landscape beds
- Identify and inventory plants located in the landscape beds
- Present improvement recommendations to staff
- Participate in Environmental Stewardship projects, such as invasive species removal and habitat restoration
- Lead volunteers and interns through a variety of projects
Required Skills
- Must be personable and able to provide outstanding customer service for diverse park visitors.
- Must be able to work flexible hours
- Must be at least 17 years of age
- Ability to work alone with little direct supervision
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Leadership skills

- The direct supervisor will be the Park Maintenance Supervisor/Lead maintenance team members
