HR Operations Intern

(Ref. TINC/HR-IN)

At Tenova Inc., our internship program is designed to give you a taste of the real world. Spend your summer working on meaningful projects, gaining hands-on experience, and understanding our culture and processes. This is your chance to develop a business mindset and see your future potential at Tenova.

You will be involved in supporting the HR Manager in the administration of all benefits, policies, and procedures, EEO compliance in interviewing and hiring procedures, new hire orientation and processing payroll. 

 

What You'll Do:

  • Talent Acquisition: Manage job postings on platforms like LinkedIn and Indeed, screen applications, and assist in virtual interviews. You'll also help coordinate career events and build social media campaigns to attract top talent.
  • HR Administration: Participate in staff meetings, maintain our HRMS database with updates on employee status, and assist with payroll and benefits data processing. You'll also handle various office duties like filing, photocopying, and creating forms and memos.
  • Training and Development: Collaborate to identify training needs, organize professional development opportunities such as workshops and online training programs, and track training completion. You'll also help develop individualized growth plans and support the internship program.
  • Employee Engagement: Plan and execute events like holiday parties and team lunches, source local volunteer opportunities, and design engaging visual materials. You'll also assist with employee recognition programs and stay updated on HR trends to contribute fresh ideas.


To become an intern with Tenova, there are a few key things you’ll need to have/had:

  • Pursuing a Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
  • Excellent analytical, cognitive and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to details.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills;
  • Proficiency in Windows and MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Basic knowledge of USA federal and state law and benefits;

 

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 30 hours per week minimum, flexible opportunity to work full-time based on company need and intern availability

Pay: $15.00/hour

Work Location: In office, Coraopolis, PA 15108

Work environment: Occasionally bends, squats, reaches, kneels, and may lift to 40 lbs. on occasion. Constantly seeing, hearing, talking. Noise level in office environment 10dB. Regularly sitting and/or standing at a computer.
