Environmental Intern (Closure)
JOB SUMMARY
Work with an established Closure team, which conducts environmental investigation and remediation activities at Brownfields sites, by assisting and supporting Project Managers with developing costs and scopes of work, preparing Health and Safety Plans (HASPs) and field instructions, evaluating and contacting subcontractors, client support activities as needed by project team, working with and delegating work to internal and external resources, assisting with field activities, and training to understand August Mack services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Support Project Managers with tasks such as scheduling contractors, identifying subcontractors, etc.
- Budget and scope proposals under direction of Project Manager, Senior, or Principal
- Become familiar with groundwater, soil, and/or vapor sampling methods
- Assist and/or lead in project kick-off meetings and developing field instructions
- Assist with the preparation and/or performance of field activities
- Become familiar with the environmental regulations that drive Closure work
- Conduct technical research associated with project or presentation submittals
- Assist with project descriptions and updating resumes
- Review company webinars to understand the breadth of the work performed in the various service areas at August Mack/EFS

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education: Working towards a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology, chemistry, engineering, or a related science degree.
Skills: Strong computer and verbal/written communication skills are a must
