Environment, Health, and Safety Intern

We are currently looking for an Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Intern to join us for the upcoming summer! The Summer Intern program is an opportunity where students typically work during their summer break from school while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a field related to EHS.

Primary responsibilities will include (under the supervision of EHS staff):

  • Researching international standards and regulations and presenting findings.
  • Participating in the generation/updating of Job Hazard Analyses (JHA).
  • Developing a consolidated training matrix.
  • Organizing Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Consolidating the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program.
  • Attend training (e.g.: RCRA, SWPPP, DOT, crane, PIT).
  • Deliver training/information at new-hire orientation and monthly safety meetings.
  • EHS-related investigations, inspections, and corrective action plans.

Ideal intern will have the following experience and education:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college pursuing a degree in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS), Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Management, Environmental Science/Administration, or related.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA with a minimum of 80 credit hours completed
  • Some involvement with technical related programs either through school or in an extracurricular program
  • Ability to collaboratively work within a team
