Position Title:
Human Resources Intern
Objective:
Performs HR support for Region Headquarters.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Employee Relations: Answers questions and promptly responds to issues via written or verbal communications. Provides uniform guidance about policies, procedures, and processes. Promotes and communicates Company Values. Maintains positive relationships with employees and management. Supports employee engagement initiatives such as quarterly events, newsletter, engagement surveys, and assists with local diversity initiatives.
· Internship Program: Facilitates onboarding and offboarding processes for interns. Coordinates and supports various intern events, including final presentations at the end of summer.
· Training, Development and Orientation: Coordinates employee orientation; internal/external training and development. Assists with Company Talent Management processes, including performance management.
· Employee Services: Promotes wellness, recognition, and social activities with location management that serves Company objectives and Company needs. Participates and may lead Employee Activities Committee initiatives.
· Records and Administration: Administers HR records and forms, including but not limited to: recruiting, personnel, compensation, benefits, medical, training, etc. ensuring compliance with laws, regulations and Company requirements. Processes employment forms and other confidential forms and records. Maintains HR data integrity.
· Projects: Participates in worldwide and region wide HR-related projects.

Education and Experience:
· Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program majoring in business, HR, labor relations, or related required.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations and functional HR areas (development, benefits, compensation, etc.)
· Ability to support ethical standards, policies and laws. Acts with integrity. Ability to support difficult decisions that align with organizational values. Ensures confidentiality and privacy of employee information and company data.
· Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite.
· Ability to create and maintain internal and external e-HR tools (i.e., Time & Attendance, HRIS, Web Portal, Intranet, databases, etc.). Ability to innovate and provide employee self-service tools to improve productivity.
· Skilled verbal (consulting, influencing, etc.) and written communications (presentations, procedures, policies, and internet/intranet).
Physical and Mental Requirements:
· Majority of time in office environment indoors. In plant, occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, machine lubricants, airborne particles, vibration and risk of electrical shock. Plant noise level is typically loud. Personal protective wear is required.
· Ability to maintain considerable levels of concentration while working under frequent time pressures and interruptions.
· Ability to frequently sit for extended periods.
· Ability to lift, carry, and bend for employee records. Ability to carry a box of paper (approximately 20 lbs.) or equivalent infrequently to replenish office, or equivalent for training needs (i.e., projector, student handouts, etc.).
· Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
