Government Contracting Internship (Virtual with In-Person Events)

Location: DMV, New Jersey, New York, or Atlanta Areas

Duration: 9 Months | Commitment: 5-10 Hours Per Week

What You Can Expect

This 9-month virtual internship is crafted to provide hands-on experience in Government Contracting, Proposal Development, Request for Proposal (RFP) Drafting, and Strategic Planning. You will:

  • Learn the intricacies of government contracting processes and compliance requirements.
  • Work on real-world projects to refine your communication and analytical skills.
  • Gain exposure to the bidding process, proposal development, and contract management.
  • Develop a standout portfolio that highlights your expertise in government contracting.
  • Access upskilling courses to deepen your knowledge of procurement and business development.
  • Attend in-person networking or collaborative events in your region (DMV, NJ, NY, or Atlanta).

While this is an unpaid internship, a stipend will be provided upon completion of the program.

Responsibilities

As a Government Contracting Intern, you’ll:

  • Assist in reviewing government RFPs and drafting competitive proposals.
  • Support the development of deliverables and presentations aimed at securing government contracts.
  • Help maintain proposal templates and contribute to the continuous improvement of proposal processes.
  • Research government procurement trends and provide insights to enhance proposal strategies.
  • Collaborate with the team to prepare compliance matrices, cost proposals, and technical documentation.
  • Participate in meetings to understand client requirements and help tailor responses to RFPs.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with project management tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Interest or experience in government contracting, business development, or related fields.
