Cybersecurity Specialist Intern
Position Overview:
As a Cybersecurity Specialist Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in ensuring the security and integrity of our digital platform and business operations. Working closely with our cybersecurity and IT teams, you will assist in developing security policies, implementing monitoring tools, and performing vulnerability assessments. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures to protect company systems, networks, and data.
- Help implement and manage network and endpoint monitoring tools to detect and respond to potential threats in real-time.
- Assist in regular vulnerability assessments, including scanning, analysis, and remediation, to identify potential security risks.
- Monitor system logs, network traffic, and security alerts to identify and mitigate threats.
- Support the development of incident response strategies and protocols for handling security breaches or other security-related incidents.
- Help enforce security standards across all teams and systems, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to strengthen security in both existing and new software applications.
- Research and stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, tools, and threats to help inform the team’s ongoing efforts.
- Participate in security audits, penetration testing, and other assessments as needed.
- Provide documentation and reporting on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and compliance activities.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including threat landscapes, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.
- Familiarity with network security concepts, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint security solutions.
- Experience with or interest in using security tools such as vulnerability scanners, SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, or antivirus software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
