The National Association of Counties (NACo), a prominent non-profit in Washington, D.C., is the only organization that supports our nations’ counties’ elected officials through policy and advocacy work. NACo announces an opening for an IT Support Intern. An IT Support Intern is a student employee who assists the Help Desk Team in providing quality technical support under the direct supervision of Chief Technology Officer. This is a paid internship at $17/hr. for a maximum of 29 hours per week

The IT Support Intern works under moderate supervision and takes guidance from the CTO and the System Administrator.


Position Responsibilities and Activities:
• Assist the Help Desk Team to deliver technical support.
• Assist with the deployment of new equipment.
• Assist with software installs.
• Assist in collecting information for the equipment inventory.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of computer systems and troubleshooting. Certifications, associate degrees, or bachelor’s degrees preferred.
• Information Technology or related majors strongly preferred
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on relationship-building, listening, questioning, and analytical skills
• Basic training and knowledge specific to hardware platforms, operating systems, communication networks, and personal computers
• Experience with use of Windows 11 and Office 365
• Prior help desk and/or PC lab experience preferred
• Experience with Apple iOS & Mac OS systems a plus
• Attention to detail and timeliness
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Excellent Customer Service
