What You’ll Do
Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. is a world leader in Memory, System LSI and LCD technologies. As a summer intern of Samsung’s Memory Solutions Lab (MSL), you will be part of an Advanced Research and Development team developing the next generation of enterprise memory and storage technologies. The team innovates, solves key technical problems in areas and products related to Samsung’s HBM, DRAM and NAND flash memory technologies, and tackles a variety of challenging issues in data center, server, and AI software infrastructure.
You will be working with a team of experts in a highly dynamic, fast-paced, results-driven environment. We are looking for highly talented, passionate, and versatile students who share our vision and contribute to the creation of next generation memory solutions
Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose headquarters 3 days per week with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time
Reports to: Sr. Manager, SW Dev. Infrastructure Engineering
- Conduct key research and develop solutions to model, simulate, and evaluate next-generation memory systems for modern memory bandwidth-intensive workloads
- Create key IPs, implement prototypes, write or publish papers
- Collaborate with team members to drive progress
What You Bring
- Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, with at least 1 academic quarter/semester remaining
- Strong problem-solving skills with proficiency in Python, C/C++ and related toolchains
- Knowledge in memory architectures, simulation tools/techniques, and modern interconnect standards such as CXL
- Background in compilers and RISC-based ISAs is a plus, but not required
- Must be highly motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills
