ABOUT THE Division
General description
Join the Information Technology division team as a PT2 Systems Analyst Intern! Performs entry-level systems analysis work. Work involves assisting in analyzing and designing integrated apps and reports by using Microsoft PowerBI platform. Participates in the enhancements of the existing application reports and writes process documentation. Works closely with other systems analysts to assist in conducting analysis and troubleshooting on the issues. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. Apply today and help the Comptroller’s office keep the Texas economy strong.
Work Hours
Work Hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 40-hour week, Monday – Friday. Occasionally work additional hours on evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Hours may change based on business need.
Teleworking may be considered if certain working conditions are met. The candidate must be able to meet in office requirements, which can vary among different sections (i.e. report to office 1 day/month, 3days/week, etc.). Travel reimbursements are not provided for teleworking.
Minimum Qualifications
• Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior at an accredited four-year college/university, or a recent graduate within one year with major in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information System, Data Science, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional or Academic experience in working on Microsoft technology stack to build apps and reports.
• Professional or Academic experience in data analysis and writing reports/documentation.
Licenses / Certifications (Preferred)
Certificates in Microsoft Office, Data Science or related.
SUMMARY OF PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires the incumbent to primarily perform sedentary office work; however, mobility (standing and walking) is routinely required to carry out some duties. It requires extensive computer, telephone and client/customer contact. The job also requires normal cognitive abilities requiring the ability to learn, recall, and apply certain practices and policies. It requires the stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions. Marginal or corrected visual and auditory requirements are required for reading printed materials and computer screens and communicating with internal and external customers. May need to lift and transfer up to 35 pounds in a limited capacity.
Employees are required to use their personal mobile phones as a part of 2 factor/multi factor authentication for accessing CPA systems securely. You will also receive critical/emergency calls/texts on your cell phone to ensure immediate communication.
In this role you will:
• May assist in analyzing data and outlines report designs and solutions.
• Assists in creating reports in PowerBI platform.
• May perform unit and peer testing, documents defects.
• Assists in analyzing issues and provides resolution.
• Adheres to established design & implementation standards.
• Assists in performing technical analysis to define specifications for current or proposed applications.
• Prepares detailed diagrams/documentation to capture application workflow logic.
• Participates in Agile Scrum team status, planning, and review sessions.
• Participates in structured peer reviews/walkthroughs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
