People Services Intern
Lee Company is seeking a People Services Intern to support various functions within our People Services Team. This is a hands-on role that offers valuable experience in human resources, onboarding, safety coordination, recruiting, and training administration.
Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
People Operations:
- Assist with weekly new hire onboarding, including guiding new hires through Workday tasks, collecting identification, and capturing employee photos, licenses, and certifications.
- Execute administrative HR tasks including but not limited to separation notices, assisting with the distribution of employee mailings, providing support for the front desk receptionist, and providing support for the coordination of employee events.
- Support HRIS through the execution of daily maintenance activities and tasks, including but not limited to data audits, testing, and process tasks.
Safety:
- Assist Safety Assistant with administrative tasks, including coordinating training classes, scheduling, managing calendars, and facilitating communication for the Safety team as needed.
- Participate in shadowing opportunities across various areas to gain a well-rounded understanding of workflows from sales through project management on both the construction and service sides.
Workforce & Pipeline:
- Filter and disposition unqualified candidates to ensure only suitable applicants move forward.
- Confirm and coordinate interviews with candidates.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for candidates, answering questions about the application process and status.
- Ensure all electronic applicant paperwork is completed in a timely manner.

- Participate in 1-2 events to engage with potential candidates and promote Lee Company opportunities.
Learning & Development (L&D):
- Assign training, and schedule offerings in Workday Learning.
- Manage and organize the Workday Learning library.
- Coordinate logistics for onboarding and training programs, including communication with participants, acquiring materials, and booking rooms.
- Help build and format curriculum for both trade and leadership training offerings.
- Help build trade assessments and assist in the delivery and evaluation
- Prepare classrooms and meeting spaces for various training offerings
Education and Experience:
- Currently pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Business, HR or related field
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with new hires, candidates, and team members.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks such as onboarding, scheduling, and training coordination.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive HR data with professionalism and discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and a willingness to learn HR systems.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
