Finance Intern, Internal Audit Job Description

Support the Lamb Weston Finance Team with several projects related to the Internal Audit function. Learn how to work as part of the Internal Audit team to evaluate SOX compliance controls, participate in operational audits, analyze data for risks, and collaborate on audit procedures. Skilled mentors within the team will be assigned for the duration of the program.

Work experience will be built around projects and duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the evaluation of internal controls to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) regulations.
  • Contribute to identifying process inefficiencies and developing recommendations to enhance efficiency.
  • Support the preparation of audit reports, summarizing findings and recommendations.
  • Participate in follow-up activities to verify the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Leverage data analytics tools to identify trends, anomalies, and potential risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and conduct audit procedures.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

  • Must be a current Junior, Senior, or Master’s student enrolled in Finance, Accounting, Audit, Economics, MIS, Information Technology or related field
  • Minimum GPA 3.0 preferred
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to meet the Lamb Weston Authorized Driver standards
  • Excellent verbal and oral communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to work independently
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong computer competency and experience using a tablet and/or iPhone
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Microsoft Office knowledge – advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Prior experience or relevant coursework in accounting or auditing.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP system
