Accounting Co-Op

Summary:

Seeking an Accounting student that is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Accounting or a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. The position is open to students pursuing an Accounting Degree at a two-year community college or four-year university. Student must be able to work 25-30 hours per week while going to school and 40 hours per week during the summer.

The position is NOT open to graduate students. Position is with a major Automotive Tier I Supplier (DENSO).

Under general supervision, interface with customers to collect and reconcile payments. Use technical skills to support the department in managing vast amounts of collection related data.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Perform reconciliation of customer account management & preparation of management reports.
• Sending & managing chargebacks, adjustment creation, cross-function monitor to closure collaboration with Quality, Delivery, Plants, AR).
• Other duties as assigned may include price entry & validation, retro price change processing, collection management.
• Analyze AR related data to identify trends and resolve complex outstanding issues.
• Act as a liaison between customer/affiliate/within DENSO internal sales, accounting, and delivery departments.
• Oversee & assist in special projects as requested by management to ensure targets are met.
• Summarizes and analyze data for audits (including mid-year & year-end), reviews, inquires.

Requirements:

• Undergraduate student pursuing an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Finance majors will be considered as well.
• 0-1 year of experience.
• Excellent computer skills using MS Office, particularly MS Excel & BI tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical skills to independently evaluate & develop innovative solutions to complex situations.
