About the Role

As an intern, you will work closely with our experienced team at the Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant, assisting with daily operations, maintenance, and special projects. This is a unique opportunity to develop practical skills, support critical environmental programs, and gain insight into a potential career in water and wastewater management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily operations and maintenance activities at the treatment plants.
  • Collect and analyze water and wastewater samples for compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Participate in the Nutrient Optimization Program, including monitoring and troubleshooting processes.
  • Contribute to data entry and performance reporting for plant optimization projects.
  • Shadow experienced staff to gain a comprehensive understanding of plant systems and workflows.
  • Support additional assignments and special projects as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a relevant degree program (e.g., Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology, or a related field).
  • Strong interest in water and wastewater treatment, environmental protection, or public utilities.
  • Must have concluded formal curriculum in Water & Wastewater Treatment operations and maintenance.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Cannot be color blind
  • Basic computer skills (experience with Microsoft Office is a plus).
  • Must be a US citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.
  • Motor Vehicle Operator's license valid in the state of Missouri
