Production Control Intern

The Suffolk County Water Authority is seeking a conscientious undergraduate college student pursuing course work in Engineering to support the management staff within the Production Control Department. The successful applicant will work closely with the operations group to assist on various projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with advanced oxidation process (AOP).
  • Assist with granular activated carbon (GAC) treatment process.
  • May assist with chemical pump specification, treatment chemical mixing design and iron removal system tracking.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • No prior job experience is necessary.
  • Coursework in Engineering, specifically Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office with strong Excel skills.
  • Must be goal oriented, organized, and motivated to learn.
  • Must be a Suffolk County resident and possess a valid driver’s license.

This is a paid internship within a range of $17.00-21.00/hr depending on year. Employment will begin in May and continue through mid-August. Work hours are to be determined, with a maximum of 28 hours per week.
