Summer Intern - Electrical Engineering Design
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Intern, under direction from the discipline Manager and/or project engineer, applies CAD/Revit skills and design knowledge in generating engineering design documents, digital models and databases.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Create engineering documents using computer aided design (CAD) technology utilizing AutoCAD and/or Revit software.
• Work closely with engineers during design phase of a project to understand scope of the project information to determine design data needs and guidelines for the project.
• Provide limited design on documents and detail design documents with input from engineers.
• Make corrections and produce final documents for engineers review. Check for integration of sections and coordination of disciplines. Work with engineers to resolve document coordination and production problems.
• Reproduce documents upon request.
• May produce drawings and digital design models in 3D software applications.
• Deploy team oriented problem solving.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degree in an engineering discipline at an accredited university. Students should have completed at least (2) years of classes.
EXPERIENCE:
• Previous internship/co-op experience is a plus
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
- Working proficiency in design software applications (Revit, AutoCAD)
• Familiarity with electrical design and analysis software (AGI32, Visual, ETAP, SKM, EasyPower)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Capable of taking initiative; able to take direction
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
