Power BI Developer- Contract/Temporary

A day in the life of a Power BI Developer at NTH 

This temporary 3-6 month position is an excellent fit for recent college graduates, college interns, co-op students, or professionals seeking temporary consulting opportunities. If you're eager to apply your data skills in a real-world setting and gain hands-on experience in business intelligence, we encourage you to apply!

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from different departments to gather requirements and understand their data visualization needs. 
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis, including PivotTables, Power Query, and advanced formulas.
  • Create visually appealing graphics and charts that enhance data comprehension and facilitate actionable insights.  
  • Conduct training sessions for team members on utilizing Power BI tools for effective data analysis. 
  • Analyze data and support operational activities to provide stakeholders with information and insights essential for decision-making and solution development. 
  • Serve as a go-to Power BI expert. 
  • Build Power BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements. 
  • Monitor the quality of data, perform data validation checks on various data sets, troubleshoot data-related issues, and resolve them timely to maintain data integrity. 
  • Continuous quality improvement on processes, policies, and reporting to improve efficiency and innovation.

 

What you need to apply

  • Some college or bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, business analytics, or related discipline. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, and Power BI Service.
  • Experience with BST accounting software is a plus!
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, Power Query, VBA, and data visualization.
  • Experience with SQL for querying and manipulating data.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Programming/scripting experience and knowledge of software development cycle is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. 
  •  Excellent computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet expertise. 
  •  Proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience manipulating and analyzing large data sets. 
  • Handles confidential information in the best interest of both client and company. 
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills, be able to work in a team environment as well as independently, demonstrate team-oriented approach to problem-solving, and have strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Exceptional time management skills, ability to manage multiple assignments at any given time, and have ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance and be willing to travel to other NTH office locations.
