Our corporate office in Livonia, Michigan is currently seeking a FC&C intern, to join our Finance team. The FC&C Intern should be highly motivated and detail-oriented. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial planning and analysis within a fast-paced business environment.

Primary Function:
The Financial Controls and Compliance Intern will support the Manager of Financial Controls and Compliance in maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the company’s financial controls. This role involves completing a project to implement and ensure segregation of duties for key financial transactions within NAV18.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Support data management and data transparency efforts, striving for data accuracy and consistency through clear and effective data governance process design.
- Assist in defining roles and responsibilities for key financial transactions within NAV18.
- Support the creation and maintenance of a Segregation of Duties (SoD) matrix for NAV18.
- Help identify how roles should be configured and communicate this to corporate IT for configuration.
- Aid in identifying and documenting critical processes and transactions that require segregation.
- Assist in implementing automated controls within NAV18 to enforce SoD.
- Define a strategy to monitor and report SoD conflicts and support the development of mitigation strategies.
- Publish training and communication to employees on the importance of SoD and its implementation in NAV18 as part of the intern summer presentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Background Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a closely related field.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Basic understanding of internal controls, risk management, and financial processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with financial software and systems is a plus.
