Organizational Development Intern
Summary
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to jumpstart your Public Health, Exercise Science, Public Administration, Marketing, or Project Management career? This internship will be full of hands-on immersion to learn, develop, and jumpstart your career once you graduate! You will be working alongside our One Water Wellness (OWW) team to assist them with ongoing wellness projects, which currently include three Dimensions of Wellness (physical, mental, and financial).
Daily, you will assist the OWW team with health education programming for various team member resource groups in multiple GLWA operational areas across the utility. You will assist with researching grant opportunities, health education, writing grant proposals, gathering, and analyzing data, and organizational outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and/or implement at least one special program/event for a team member resource group related to exercise or wellness
- Prepare and deliver a minimum of one health/wellness educational program to a team member resource group
- Assist in the coordination of GLWA special events programming related to health and wellness
- Observe a minimum of two health and wellness educational sessions provided by One Water Wellness and contribute to the programs as necessary
- Contribute to the marketing of all wellness programs, events and services through website promotions, newsletter articles, oice hour events, social media, etc.
- Job shadow a OWW team member
- Research potential donors, strategic partners, markets, and industries
- Research grant opportunities, including funder priorities, recently funded proposals, requirements, and deadlines
- Gather and analyze data on GLWA community demographics and service trends
- Assist with mailings, filing, and special projects as needed
- Attend all regularly scheduled office hours and meetings
- Ability to use project management tools (e.g. Gantt charts, SmartSheet)
Required Education and Experience
Currently enrolled in an associate, bachelors or master’s degree program with an accredited college or university with a related field of study.
Able to commit to working 40 hours per week
Able to commit to the intern position for a minimum of two months
Follow security and safety policies and procedures in carrying out work duties
Other job qualifications:
Juniors, seniors, and graduate students pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Public Health, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Therapy, Health Care Management, Administration, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, Marketing, Project Management Experience and interest in the fitness/wellness field
- Strong research abilities
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to deliver presentations
- Must possess good organizational skills and be efficient in multitasking
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Ability to work in a dynamic, changing, and diverse environment
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, Teams, and LinkedIn
- Ability to create and enter data into spreadsheets (Smartsheet), create social media campaigns, and launch virtual meetings
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
