Summer 2025, HAMR Materials Modeling & Simulation Ph.D. Intern (Ph.D. Only)

As a Materials Development Intern, you will be responsible for the following:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Perform Molecular Dynamics modeling of diffusion of materials of interest for HAMR devices, focusing on NFT and NFT adhesion materials under the supervision of a senior materials development engineer
  • Analyze data and suggest further experiments
  • Use your unique education and talents to advance materials understanding for HAMR Technology

Qualifications

 

REQUIRED

  • Candidate should be currently working on a PhD in materials science, physics, chemistry, or related field.
  • Candidate should have the goal of working as a research/development engineer in an industrial setting like Western Digital.
