Fuse Technology Engineering Intern

Requirements:

Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics (Junior or Senior Level)

Hands-on experience in a laboratory or research environment

Technical report writing and documentation skills

Familiarity with Siemens NX CAD software or similar (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360)

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Knowledge of MATLAB and LabVIEW experience is preferred (but not required)

Understanding of heat and mass transfer principles preferred (but not required)

 

Responsibilities:

Assist the Engineering teams (Design, Process, and Validation) in product development of fuse products with tasks including:

Prepare device under test (DUT), test setup, conduct testing, extract, and analyze test data

Participate in spectrometer operation and collect spectral data   Use an oscilloscope to capture different current and voltage signals

Use high speed camera to capture imaging data

Modify DUT assembly to enable attachment of pressure sensor and other diagnostics

Conduct thermal characterization tests of filler materials and collect/analyze data

Design and manufacture assembly fixtures leveraging 3D Printing technology

Present findings, results, and recommendations to a cross-functional group of professionals including executive leadership

You will Learn how to:

Set up, perform, and troubleshoot engineering tests on new product designs

Collaborate with engineers and scientists to study internal structure of fuses and system behavior

Collect, process, and analyze large data sets to validate test results

Design and execute experiments based on research studies

Assist in test setup and instrumentation

Document findings and write technical reports on test methodologies, procedures, and results
