Engineering Intern

                                                     

Position:                                Energy Engineering Development Intern

Reports to:                           Manager of Energy Engineering Services

General Position Summary

Energy Engineering intern employees assist Engineers and Engineering Managers with existing and potential projects. The work may involve engineering calculations, data analysis, and HVAC/BAS design. The position is an hourly position with up to 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship. The internship period will be from May 3rd to August 27th with a possibility to continue part-time through the academic year based on performance during the primary internship.

 

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities

·      Perform, or assist in performing, engineering calculations

·      Work with Engineering Team to conduct jobsite observations, field inspections, and collect data for energy conservation analyses

·      Assist in the evaluation of construction design information such as: design drawings, design calculations, system layouts, and specifications

·      Analyze, interpret, or create graphical representations of energy data, using engineering software

·      Perform, or assist in performing, energy modeling, measurement, verification, commissioning, or retro-commissioning

·      Work collaboratively with the consulting, integration, and managed service teams daily for delivery of technology solutions to owner/end users

·      Monitor and analyze energy consumption

·      Adhere to all Resolute Security Policies and Procedures

Qualifications

·      Minimum sophomore standing in an EAC/ABET-accredited Engineering degree program

·      Good academic standing

·      Some related work experience preferred

·      Functional experience with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, etc.)

·      Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure

·      Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail required

·      Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on technical writing skills

·      Ability to work collaboratively with others whom you have no direct authority over

·      Strong teamwork and team synergy skills required

·      Ability and willingness to travel as needed, provide personal transportation for client meetings, conferences, and project site visits; reimbursed

·      Availability to all employees within the organization
