Musket Credit Analyst Internship (Summer 2025)

BASIC PURPOSE: This internship is designed to fully immerse students in the day-to-day credit and financial support functions of a commodities trading company. Summer Interns will be tasked with real responsibilities related to analyzing financial statements and evaluating credit limits.

 

       MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyzing customer financial statements.
  • Understanding key ratios in financial statements.
  • Evaluating customer credit limits.
  • Term change requests from internal sources.
  • Risk analysis and exposure management to minimize debt losses and optimize A/R turnover.
  • Assists the Credit Manager with monthly reports and other projects as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • HS Diploma or equivalent required
    • Currently enrolled in four-year university program, a sophomore level or above (pursing a bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, accounting/finance, or related field)
  •  
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Previous internship experience in a similar role is a plus, but not necessary

 

       SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Skills:
    • Hard Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel), general computer knowledge, and basic finance and accounting knowledge
    • Soft Skills: Keen attention to detail, strong oral and verbal communication skills, organization skills, critical thinker, and team player
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
