Recreation and Athletic Outdoor Complex (RAOC) Supervisor
JOB SUMMARY
Recreations and Athletic Outdoor Complex (RAOC) Supervisors are responsible for the general oversight of the usage of the Recreation and Athletic Outdoor Complex by patrons and user groups. RAOC Supervisors are also responsible for responding to emergency situations and patron complaints. RAOC Supervisors lead by example and are responsible for excellent customer service.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
- Must be able to work independently and as a team.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to accomplish tasks.
- Proven track record of effectively managing time and tasks with minimal supervision while consistently meeting deadlines and achieving goals.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Leadership Experience: Strong understanding of leadership. Able to motivate individuals and manage projects from start to completion. Ability to inspire confidence and build strong working relationships with supervisors, customers, and peers.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional focus on accuracy and thoroughness, ensuring that all tasks are completed with care. Skilled in identifying potential errors or areas for improvement in processes.
- Professionalism: Maintains a high standard of professionalism in all interactions, demonstrating respect, courtesy, and a positive attitude in fast-paced environments.
- Commitment to Confidentiality: Strong understanding of and dedication to maintaining confidentiality and protecting sensitive information in compliance with organizational policies and legal regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Professionally enforce all policies, procedures, rules, and regulations of the Department of University Recreation and Well-Being.
- Provide appropriate care in emergency situations as stated in the Emergency Action Plan.
- Provide quality customer service to all patrons and user groups
- Perform set-ups and tear-downs of equipment, furniture, etc., of areas based on scheduled facility usage.
- Oversee all RAOC event reservations as well as open recreation users as scheduled.
- Communicate facility issues and needs to the appropriate supervisor
- Acts as the on-site liaison between the Facility Operations Coordinator and reservation groups or open recreational users.
- Problem-solve solutions when conflicts arise.
- Perform hourly walk-throughs of the facility to check for safety and record facility area usage.
- Check-in patrons for Oakland University student and staff reservations and drop-in programs.
- Routine cleaning and maintenance of the facility ensure that it remains presentable and safe.
- Complete appropriate incident and injury paperwork and shift notes.

COMPENSATION
- $16/hour - Minimum rate for new hires
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Available to work a minimum of 8 hours and a maximum of 20 hours per week in this role, including various shifts during nights, weekends, and early mornings.
- Complete assigned OU Golf Cart training requirements at the time of hire.
- Attend all scheduled staff meetings and trainings.
- Act in accordance with the Clery Act as a mandated reporter and carry out responsibilities in reporting a crime on campus as a University Recreation and Well-Being staff member.
- Must be enrolled part-time, at least 6 credit hours per semester for undergraduate students and 4 credit hours for graduate students at Oakland University.
- Must obtain American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification upon hire
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
- RAOC Supervisors report directly to the Facility Operations Coordinator.
- RAOC Supervisors report indirectly to the Facility Operations Team Lead.
- Additionally, RAOC Supervisors may receive on-duty requests or instruction from any Rec Well professional staff member.
