Test Engineering Intern

at our location in Portage, Michigan.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform physical testing to evaluate the performance of products produced by MANN+HUMMEL, including but not limited to: leak testing, cleanliness testing, burst testing, pressure pulsation, push on, pull off, thermal exposure, thread-forming screw testing, vibration testing and air flow testing.
  • Design, develop and implement new testing equipment for the lab with guidance from Test Engineers.
  • Manage procurement of equipment and supplies within lab
  • Organize and assist with transportation of test samples to suppliers and customers.
  • Research on special topics and new lab capability as assigned by Test Engineers
  • Perform activities in a positive and professional manner
  • Maintain an acceptable attendance record to ensure timely work completion
  • Work with hand tools, wrenches, hammers, screw drivers, etc.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Must be able to move 100lb. objects.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Pursuing a degree in Engineering or relative field.
  • Must have strong written and communication skills.
  • Must be team and goal oriented.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Strong Knowledge of Excel Spreadsheets using Pivot Tables and Macros.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Catia, NX, LabView and SAP software a plus.
  • Ability to read and evaluate part prints.
  • Ability to work hands on in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least a year commitment (recommended).
