Job purpose

This is an intern/co-op position for a Human Resources student at our Propulsion Technical Center in Auburn Hills, MI.  The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the human resources processes, with a focus on learning and development and administration of related activities, working with various groups across the TTT North America and global teams. If the student is available for multiple terms/semesters (preferred), they will be given assignments increasing in responsibility as they progress towards their degree.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Support ongoing human resources related activities in the North America region as well as in the global functions in TTT
  • Benchmark HR practices and make recommendations on process improvements (new employee onboarding, learning and development, communication, talent management, etc.)
  • Assist in the process and implementation of communication initiatives using the different tools available at BorgWarner
  • Perform data analysis by running reports through our Learning Management System (LMS) on various business learning metrics (training registrations, participation, needs requests, etc.)
  • Support our internal technical product and process training team in the development and updating of eLearning courses and administrative tasks.
  • Consider and seek out the impact of his/her actions within the team.  Actively seek collaboration with internal and external team members
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

 

What we’re looking for

  • Student working towards a bachelor’s or master’s Degree emphasis in Human Resources, Organizational Development, and/or Learning & Development
  • Demonstrates ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Highly collaborative and team oriented
  • Demonstrates Problem Solving and analytical Skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer and MS Office products preferred

This position will adhere to Global Star Safety Program, including safety rules, practices and training as outlined in the BorgWarner PTC Safety Policy Manual, which includes the use of equipment, protective devices, or clothing that the employer requires. This individual will work in manners that stress the importance of preventing accidents and illnesses. He/she must take every precaution reasonable in the given circumstance for the protection of themselves and coworkers. In addition, he/she is responsible for reporting all injuries and/or possible dangerous situations, incidents, or occurrences to the immediate supervisor.
