2025 Mechanical Engineering Internship

Taikisha USA, Inc. is a world class designer and builder of Paint Finishing Systems and Pollution Abatement Systems for the automotive and related industries.

This position offers the opportunity to develop skills within a variety of Engineering, Design, and Construction disciplines including process layouts, HVAC, utilities, 3D CAD, conveyor, automation, scheduling, fabrication, installation, and Project Management.

In this role, you will support the development of a project (such as one from the list below) for the duration of your internship. You will be supported by the Taikisha USA Engineering Team for specific technical knowledge, training, and support. Possible project topics include:

       · P&ID Development – Process Flows, Duct and Piping – with AutoCAD or Vizio.

       · Air Supply House design using Psychrometrics

       · Duct design and sizing

       · Piping design and sizing

       · Introduction to 3D design using REVIT and Navisworks

       · Etc.

Minimum Requirements:

       · Working towards bachelor’s degree in engineering

       · An understanding of engineering concepts such as thermodynamics, heat transfer, 

         mass transfer, fluid flows, psychometrics, sheet metal, piping, structural, material 

         handling and air flow.

       · Ability to clearly communicate with professionalism and respect both verbally and in 

         writing.

Employment conditions

       · This position is based in our corporate office located in Troy MI

       · Core office hours are 9am-3pm, Monday-Friday

       · This position may involve accompanying the Engineering Manager on domestic travel 

         for the purpose of touring project sites, and meeting with team members, vendors, 

         and/or clients.

       · This is a paid non-exempt position. (Hourly wage, paid weekly)

       · This position is eligible for health & welfare benefits, in accordance with the terms of 

         each plan.

       · This is a temporary position, subject to the individual’s work authorization status and 

         availability due to school schedule, as well as job performance.
