LOCATION: Hawthorne, NY (on-site)

TYPE: Co-Op (May 2025 – January 2026) OR (May 2025 – August 2025)

COMPENSATION: $23.00/hr - $33.00/hr

Role Summary

The Mechanical Engineer Co-Op will play a key role in supporting the design, development, and testing of mechanical components for Clarapath’s advanced electro-mechanical device, SectionStar™. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, CAD modeling, and hands-on prototyping, contributing to the refinement and optimization of system performance. The ideal candidate will assist in designing mechanical assemblies, conducting validation tests, and collaborating with a cross-disciplinary team of engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical systems. We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented team player who thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the design, prototyping, and validation of mechanical components for SectionStar™
  • Develop and refine CAD models, mechanical drawings, and assembly documentation
  • Conduct testing and analysis to evaluate mechanical performance and reliability
  • Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to integrate mechanical systems
  • Support manufacturing and assembly processes by providing technical guidance
  • Document findings, design iterations, and test results to support product development
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and recommend design improvements

Qualifications: 

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical prototyping and testing
  • Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical design principles
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
