Family Legacy Internship 


 

Internship Overview: 

The Four County Community Foundation is offering an internship opportunity focused on community journalism and visual storytelling. The goal of this internship is to have a student interview the Latine residents of Imlay City in order to create a visual representation of their community history. The culmination of this reporting will result in the family legacy project showcasing the rich cultural heritage and stories of the local Latine community. 


 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a rapport with the Latine community in Imlay City
  • Conduct interviews with Latine residents of Imlay City to collect oral histories and personal stories centering around themes such as:
    • Challenges
    • Triumphs
    • Contributions
  • Create a visual representation of the community history, which may include multimedia elements such as videos, photo essays, or interactive exhibits


 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled at an an accredited four year university
  • Sophomore or junior standing
  • Strong interest in journalism, storytelling, or community engagement.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Sensitive to diverse cultures and experiences
  • Ability to complete 3 or more story projects as assigned
