Researcher Intern

Location: Hybrid | Duration: 6 months | Weekly Hours: 10 hours
Compensation: $12-$15/hour | College Credit: Eligible

About the Role:

We’re seeking a Community Resource Researcher Intern to help create a comprehensive, easy-to-use resource directory for individuals with disabilities in Louisiana. You’ll be integral in collecting and organizing critical resource information, ensuring it’s up-to-date and accessible for both case managers and clients. This is a chance to make a meaningful impact while gaining hands-on experience in research, data management, and community support.

What You’ll Do:

  • Research & Verify Resources: Find and confirm local and state resources for individuals with disabilities (healthcare, housing, legal, etc.).
  • Create and Organize Database: Build a user-friendly digital resource directory with detailed info on each service (eligibility, location, costs, etc.).
  • Ensure Accessibility: Develop a searchable, easy-to-navigate database that’s accessible for case managers and clients.
  • Update and Maintain: Keep the directory up-to-date and improve it based on feedback from case managers and users.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Detail-Oriented: You have strong attention to detail and can keep data organized and accurate.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with Google Sheets/Excel and database management tools.
  • Clear Communicator: You can effectively reach out to providers and clearly share resource information.
  • Problem-Solver: You’re proactive about identifying gaps in resources and finding solutions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a college program (preferred focus: social work, public health, communications, or similar).
  • Available for 12 hours per week over 6 months.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google Sheets and basic research.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
