INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW:
Our internship program is a dynamic group of emerging, high potential rising university seniors who will have the opportunity to participate in a 10-week summer internship at the World’s Leading Fragrance Specialty Retailer.
This internship will provide the opportunity for a comprehensive view of the various functional areas within specialty retail. You will have the opportunity to work along-side and learn from BBW associates who will provide training, development and engagement of your function and our Brand.

PROGRAM AREA:
Digital Operations UX Design
At Bath & Body Works, the customer comes first. We are looking for a designer setting out on their career journey that is passionate about crafting impactful, research-driven digital experiences. Join us for the summer to learn from a team of passionate product designers, design system designers, and UX strategists. In this role you will gain real-world experience contributing to an eCommerce product team and the in-house Bath & Body Works design system. Over the course of the program, you will shadow a UX practitioner and learn hands-on skills that you will directly apply in the rest of your career.
UX Intern Responsibilities:
- As a junior contributor on a product team, you will work with other embedded designers to deliver feature work including design research spikes, wireframes, user flows, and production-ready designs under the guidance of senior designers.
- Work cross-functionally to learn best practices for design documentation, developer handoff, stakeholder engagement, and storytelling.
- Work on an agile product team and learn the associated industry-standard team ceremonies and processes.
- Attend internal UX team ceremonies to receive and provide feedback, utilize managers’ office hours for professional development, and coordinate with the design operations team to learn how the design system is employed in our work.
- If time permits, you will have the opportunity to learn about and contribute to the design system.
- Complete a capstone design project by the end of your internship in which you will propose a feature enhancement to Bath & Body Works’ digital ecosystem based on what you have learned as a crafting product designer.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- University current juniors pursuing their bachelor’s degree and in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or other related discipline.
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week during summer 2025
- May 27th-August 1st (required dates) No extended PTO
- You have strong visual design skills and grasp of fundamental principles of type and image applied to digital interfaces.
- Demonstrate knowledge of designing for digital experiences, such as web and native mobile applications, kiosks, etc.
- Interface and interaction design knowledge; design research exposure is a huge plus!
- Working understanding of web and mobile conventions and best practices such as: responsive web design, Apple’s HIG, Material Design, WCAG, etc.
- Experience using product design and prototyping tools such as: Figma, Sketch, Protopie, Framer, etc.
- A high-level understanding of web development frameworks including HTML and CSS
- Previous exposure to usability testing designs in some capacity.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous internship, customer service or leadership experience
- Ability to manage through conflict and problem-solve
- Strong communication and presentation skills; can concisely present complex information/recommendations in terms meaningful to various audiences
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
