Brooksource is seeking a talented Junior Web Developer to join our West Michigan Retail client through our entry-level training program, Elevate. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in React and JavaScript, experience with testing cycles, and a passion for building high-quality, accessible web applications. This role will involve working within an Agile/Scrum environment, contributing to the development and testing of web applications, and ensuring smooth, efficient user experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize web applications using React and JavaScript.
- Implement and execute testing cycles, ensuring high-quality and reliable code.
- Conduct unit testing using Jest and React Testing Library.
- Utilize automation testing tools such as Selenium or Playwright.
- Perform accessibility testing using Allyant 360 to ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum development environment (SAFe preferred).
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance issues, and other technical challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or related field), latest graduation April 2025
- 1+ years of experience (projects, classroom, internship, etc.) in web development with React and JavaScript.
- Strong understanding of testing processes and tools for web applications.
- Familiarity with unit testing (Jest, React Testing Library).
Bonus Skills:
- Experience working with Next.js.
- Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and AEM component creation.
- Knowledge of automation testing (Selenium, Playwright).
- Experience with accessibility testing (Allyant 360).
- Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies (SAFe preferred).
