PAY AND BENEFITS
Annual Pay Range: $80,490.96 - $103,193.57
Hourly Pay Range: $38.697579 - $49.612294
Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on a candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.

We are seeking a motivated, experienced, and detail and quality focused Transportation Software Programmer to join our Transportation Maintenance team. If selected for this position, your main focus in this position will be on working with the ESRI suite software, such as ArcGIS and ArcMap to build and maintain GIS databases, analyze spatial data, and produce GIS deliverables.
If selected for this position, you will focus on the analysis, design, creation, implementation, and enhancement of broad and complex application systems. In this role, you will mainly be responsible for programming, testing, installation, and maintenance of new or modified applications, as well as creating and maintaining GIS databases, analyzing spatial data, and producing GIS deliverables. Additionally, you will be instrumental in preparing relevant application systems and software specifications and procedures.

Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
• A minimum of five (5) years of related experience that would provide the required knowledge and skills to perform the responsibilities of this position
• Experience creating, maintaining, and analyzing GIS data
• Experience producing GIS deliverables, including maps and reports
• Experience with database and/or application software development
• Experience assessing customer business needs and formulating a technical solution
Preferred Special Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
• Experience working with Asset Management or Work Management systems
• Experience with ESRI's suite of GIS software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS on-line, Portal) and creating GIS solutions utilizing ESRI ArcGIS API, ArcPy, JavaScript, or other relevant language
• Experience maintaining a GIS Linear Referencing system
• Experience developing and maintaining project costing or customer billing applications
• Experience working with outside agencies in data coordination
• Experience with Microsoft SQL database programming

TYPICAL TASKS
Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
• Create and maintain complex GIS or web based applications, databases, or map products; codes instructions for computers using appropriate language and tools; designs and documents formal descriptions of applications; details program functions, interfaces, and data descriptions.
• Uses connectivity tools to integrate information from multiple databases; tests and debugs coded programs to assure operational accuracy; design and produce complex maps and associated databases.
• Communicates with user departments to analyze complex problems, applications, reporting and resource needs for planning new or modified applications; recommends the most efficient approach to meet user requirements; develops estimates of time and costs to complete projects.
• Develops and documents procedures for implementation and use of systems; updates user manuals; provides advanced technical support and training to application users.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position is included in the County's alternate workweek program, working 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Thursday (Fridays off). Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended.
Please Note: This position is designated as on-site/in-person. It is expected that the selected candidate will perform duties at the specified on-site work location.
