Marketing Intern
Overview:
Delaware State Parks is seeking a motivated and creative intern to contribute to our marketing and social media efforts. This internship offers hands-on experience in photography, videography, and digital content creation, along with opportunities to assist with park activations and strategic marketing initiatives. Ideal candidates will be proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to develop their skills in a real-world setting.
Key Responsibilities:

Photography & Videography:
- Work alongside our staff photographer/videographer to capture high-quality images and videos of park landscapes, events, and activities.
- Edit and curate visual content for use across multiple platforms.
- Collaborate with the creative team to conceptualize and execute visual storytelling projects.

Social Media & Digital Content:
- Assist the digital marketing specialist to develop engaging social media copy, including captions, posts, and stories that reflect the unique offerings of our parks.
- Assist in managing and scheduling posts across various platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, etc.).
- Monitor and analyze social media trends and engagement metrics to inform future content strategies.
- Assist in the organization of digital photo library

Marketing Activations & Events:
- Assist with planning and executing on-site marketing activations that drive visitor engagement and enhance the park experience.
- Support event logistics, including setup, promotion, and post-event debrief.
- Work with the marketing team to brainstorm and implement innovative outreach initiatives.

Content Strategy & Project Collaboration:
- Contribute ideas to the development of broader marketing strategies and campaigns.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and collaborate on cross-functional projects with the marketing and communications teams.
- Help manage and organize digital assets, ensuring consistency and brand alignment.

Professional Development & Mentorship:
- Engage in learning opportunities through hands-on experiences, mentorship sessions, and exposure to industry best practices.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to strategic discussions, gaining insight into professional marketing operations.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Photography, Videography, or a related field.
- Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, etc.).
- Basic photography and videography skills; experience with editing software is a plus.
- Strong writing and communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Enthusiasm for outdoor recreation and public engagement.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or other content creation tools.
- Knowledge of social media trends and digital marketing strategies.
- Interest in environmental conservation and outdoor activities.
