Year-Round Health, Safety, & Environment Intern - Fraser, MI

FORVIA is looking for a Year-Round HSE Intern for our Fraser, MI location.

Your mission, roles and responsibilities

•    Give HSE training to employees and contractors
•    Assist with the LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) program, by conducting exercises with maintenance and process technicians, ensuring the employees have the required equipment and the LOTO placards are up to date,
•    Maintain the storm water prevention plan program by conducting weekly, monthly, quarterly routine inspection and maintenance,
•    Assist the HSE team in maintaining the HSE management system and preparing for the internal/external ISO 14001 and ISO 45001audits,
•    Participate to incident investigations, in order to identify the root cause and find solutions to avoid reoccurrence,
•    Conduct HSE internal audits (Faurecia safety rules, contractors’ activities…)
•    Identify opportunities for water and waste reduction,
•    Assist the HSE team with maintaining the inventory of the chemicals in the plant up to date
•    Email daily and weekly information to the plant teams,
•    Additional tasks as assigned by the HSE team.

Health, Safety, & Environment (HSE): 
•    Support commitments established in the FIS NAO HSE Policy Policy.
•    Conform to requirements established in FIS NAO HSE Management System procedures and work instructions.
Other:
•    Follow values established within Being Faurecia. Act with an entrepreneurial mindset as well as with autonomy and accountability.
•    Act in accordance with the behaviors as established in Faurecia’s Code of Ethics and Code of Management.
 

Your profile and competencies to succeed

•    Pursuing degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environment, Industrial Hygiene.
•    Minimum 3.0 GPA,
•    Proficient level of English.
 

Knowledge / Skills:
•    Sociable personality,
•    Autonomous,
•    Ability to communicate effectively with hourly and management employees,
•    Comfortable in a manufacturing/ industrial setting,
•    Excellent oral and written communication,
•    Good time management skills,
•    Proficient in Microsoft programs including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Planner, Forms, Power Automate.
