
Center Assistant
As a Center Assistant at our Kumon learning center, the primary responsibility is to support the educational growth and development of our diverse student population in an atmosphere of kindness, active inquiry, and respect. Your role involves assisting with instruction, classroom management, data entry, grading, public relations, and professional development.
Key responsibilities include:
Instructional Support:
- Implement the Kumon Method for individual students under the guidance of the center instructor.
- Assist in creating a conducive learning environment and employing various teaching strategies.
- Encourage student enthusiasm and good study habits.
- Recognize learning issues and communicate them to the center director.
Classroom Management:
- Help maintain reasonable classroom behavior rules.
- Ensure student safety and protect center resources.
- Supervise students during center hours.
Data Entry and Grading:
- Accurately enter data into Record Books, maintaining student confidentiality.
- Grade students' work promptly and accurately, following established guidelines.
- Return graded work to students in a timely manner.
Public Relations:
- Uphold and enforce center policies and regulations.
- Maintain professional work habits, including punctuality.
- Communicate positively about the center and Kumon Method to the public.
- Foster cooperative relationships with parents and staff members.
Professional Growth:
- Participate in professional development opportunities, as offered.
- Attend required staff meetings and training sessions.
Student Evaluation:
- Assist in evaluating student progress using multiple assessment methods.
- Help adjust instructional programs as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and family information.
