Jr. Systems Analyst

About This Job
Air and Space Force Solutions, a business unit within BAE Systems, has an opening at our Hill Air Force Base, Utah location for a Jr. Systems Analyst to work on our operations team. The selected candidate will join our Information Services team and have an important role in supporting our mission of Strategic Deterrence through continual improvement and innovation. The position will have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Perform professional technical work that requires general knowledge and diversified application of network engineering principles, theories, concepts, practices, and techniques
  • Ensure execution of systems analysis and administration processes across the lifecycle, and report on project status and progress measured against specific plans
  • Research emerging trends, techniques, methods, and current best practices
  • Any other duties, as assigned

Certification Requirement

The applicant must meet DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or higher certification requirements on hire date or must obtain such within 6 months of being hired.

Clearance Requirement
The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. An active Secret clearance is preferred but not required.

US Citizenship Requirement
Pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
 

Education and Experience Requirements are as follows:

  • HS diploma and 4+ years of related experience, or
  • BS/BA or MA/MS degree in computer science or computer-related field

The successful candidate should:

  • Have related experience in general systems administration, including configuration, maintenance, patching, and upgrades
  • Have a general understanding of the OSI Model
  • Have familiarity with the fundamentals of systems administration management
  • Have familiarity with monitoring system performance, documenting system changes, providing technical support to users, troubleshooting connectivity issues and implementing basic security measures.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external resources necessary to successfully complete assignments or projects
  • Proactively manage and prioritize assignments, timelines, milestones, and follow-up communications
  • Utilize DISA STIG checklists to assess and document compliance.

Certification Requirement

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
 

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Configure and install various infrastructure storage, servers and services
  • Perform system maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
  • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
  • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
  • Provide Level-2 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.



Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $52080 - $88535
