Industrial Engineering Intern
Job Summary
Lead Continuous Improvement efforts focused on Manufacturing processes, Material flow, Labor utilization, Production efficiency and help in achieving the Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost objectives of the organization.
Duties and Responsiblities
- Support experienced engineers and assist with process improvement.
- Support larger projects by working on specific tasks, assignments, and responsibilities.
- Assist with the development of Work Instructions.
- Assisting with Launch documentation and Quality Documentation.
- Gain hands-on experience using engineering principles and methods in a real-world setting.
- Become proficient in industry-standard software (Microsoft) and tools used for process analysis, simulation, and data visualization.
- Work with other engineers, project managers, and staff to achieve project goals.
- Assist with various logistics tasks, including data analysis, inventory management, order processing, to gain practical experience in the field and support the logistics team.
- Implement a 5S and Visual management program to streamline the operations.
- Perform Value stream mapping of processes to identify and eliminate non-value add activities.
Education and Experience
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Logistics (Supply Chain)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Able to create layout planning and design using AutoCAD.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in MS Office.
- Knowledge of industrial engineering principles, including, but not limited to Time & Motion studies, Line balancing, Capacity planning, & Labor utilization.

- Must be able to handle the physical demands of the Operations. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
- The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand
- The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
