Are you a college student looking to kickstart your Cybersecurity career? Open Dealer Exchange, LLC is seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Intern to support its workforce in Southfield, Michigan. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in cybersecurity functions including, but not limited to SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tool usage, virus/malware remediation, and general tasks of the security operations center (SOC). This role is perfect for someone eager to learn, grow, and build practical skills in a professional environment. This internship is an onsite opportunity and will last 12 weeks.

What You’ll Do (Essential Job Functions):
- Assist in security operations, including monitoring and triaging alerts for potential security threats.
- Monitor and remediate phishing attempts through mailbox monitoring and analysis.
- Support malware and virus removal efforts, along with conducting related analysis.
- Collaborate with IT and Desktop Support teams to troubleshoot and assist with reimaging tasks.
- Utilize cybersecurity tools (EDR, DLP, vulnerability scanners) to detect and monitor potential security issues.
- Contribute to threat feed monitoring, updates, and incident management through SIEM tools.
- Assist with creating and distributing SIEM tool dashboards and reports.
- Provide additional support for other cybersecurity tasks as needed.
Who We’re Looking For (Preferred Skills and Experience):
- Pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. (30+ credits completed)
- Strong computer literacy and basic knowledge of security concepts (AV, firewalls, etc.)
- Exposure to enterprise computing, TCP/IP networks, and cloud environments (especially Microsoft 365 and Azure).
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with concepts in security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security.
- Experience with any Microsoft security toolset (e.g., Defender, Sentinel, Purview) is a plus.
- Understanding of system hardening processes, GRC solutions, and security protocols.
