Hospice is a philosophy of care that supports patients and their families during the final stages of a life-limiting illness.
The InHouse commitment emphasizes comfort, quality care and compassion one patient and family at a time, in familiar surroundings. The Volunteer Role The hospice volunteer is a valuable member of the hospice care team that includes Physician, RN, Aide, SW, Chaplain. Add to someone’s quality of life by lending a helping hand to provide companionship, reading, legacy projects, basic errands and more. Visits can be 2-4 times a month depending on needs of the patient and volunteer availability. Locations Bloomfield, Troy, Rochester, Clarkston, Lake Orion, Grosse Pointe, St Clair Shores. West Bloomfield, Taylor.
Our patients are in assisted living, nursing homes, memory care facilities, or private homes. Some driving required. Requirements • Mandatory training of approximately 12 hours; 4 hours on-line and 8 hours in-person training. • All volunteers are required to have annual tuberculosis (TB) testing to meet compliance requirements. • The State of Michigan requires criminal background checks and fingerprinting for all hospice volunteers. • Minimum age: 16 years old • Valid Driver’s license
