Occupational Health & Safety Co-Op

Start Date: May/June

Program: DTE Co-op Program

Commitment: Multiple terms, 24 hours per week, hybrid schedule 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum GPA: 2.5
  • Graduation date no sooner than December 2025

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Works with BU partners regarding incident/injury event management, including conducting investigations, developing countermeasures, etc. 
  • Conducts recordable/Potential Serious Injury and Fatality (PSIF/HSIF) Incident investigations with root causal analysis. 
  • Ensures incidents are maintained per record keeping standard requirements.
  • Identifies and partners with the BUs to resolve safety related issues.
    Participates in and supports the development of Corporate Safety level initiatives and projects.
  • Support development and periodically update corporate safety standards. 
  • Keeps leader abreast of safety and health issues and concerns within assigned area of responsibility. 
  • Routinely participates in business unit and plant level safety committees.
