Summer Intern Opportunity –Part-Time Data Entry Position
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to work in a Data Entry Position for an exciting project.
Dr. Christina Coyle is an expert in travel medicine and the PI on a grant funded by the Centers for Disease Control entitled, “The Global TravEpiNet (GTEN): U.S. Travelers Health Research, Surveillance, Communication and Outreach Networks.” As part of this grant, we are conducting a retrospective review of malaria cases across multiple Bronx hospital sites within the timespan of July 2019 to September 2024. This study aims to identify high-risk populations, evaluate current treatment approaches among providers, and uncover gaps in care that need to be addressed. With approximately 400 cases under review, this research project is one of the largest of its kind. Its findings could play a key role in advocacy by highlighting both the successes and challenges in malaria care, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes.
The Data Entry Associate would be responsible for the following:
- Thoroughly review malaria cases in Epic and enter data into the REDCap database.
- Use Epic’s SlicerDicer tool to identify any new cases within the study period.
- Coordinate case distribution among other students working on the project.
- Assist with writing sections of the research paper.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Undergraduate student
- Proficiency in REDCap and Epic.
- Strong judgment, initiative, and attention to detail.
