Global Market Research Year-Round Intern

POSITION SUMMARY

Year-Round Intern will report to the Market Research Analyst and is responsible for items such as global and regional market research and analysis, customer and competitive analysis, database entry and maintenance, and presenting research findings to management. 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assists team with analysis of global strategic issues, vehicle production trends, data acquisition and presentation to leadership.
  • Gathers and maintains 3rd party production data to build our internal Market Outlook and Scenario forecasts.
  • Data prep. for Market Outlook related activities (e.g., S&P mid-month production, TAM alignment, Monthly S&P Propulsion Updates).
  • Supports Long Range Planning (LRP) consolidation in our Sales Intelligence Management Systems (SIMS).
  • Monitors automotive / commercial vehicle OEM electric vehicle production announcements as well as peer supplier and sell-side forecasts.
  • Supports BorgWarner’s Corporate initiatives as needed with market analysis (e.g., LRP revenue splits, vehicle production trends).
  • Assists Market Research research leads with specific projects, reports, and tasks.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 

  • Student with a minimum one - two years college experience in Business or Engineering related fields.
  • Candidate has excellent communication skills and interest in the automotive industry.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and be naturally curious.
  • Recent experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets and form conclusions is key.
  • Recent experience in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Power BI or equivalent is preferred.
