Records and Information Management Intern

Are you interested in learning about records management, information management or archives? Tacoma Public Utilities' Management Services Office is looking for a Records and Information Management (RIM) Intern to join our team. This position will support the RIM Administrator by collaborating and working on special projects. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Adding metadata to SharePoint libraries
  • Entering items to retention schedule database and running test reports
  • Reviewing inventory reports and identifying inconsistencies
  • Data entry
  • Migrating electronic records from shared drive to SharePoint
  • Indexing images to provide descriptive information
  • Scanning original records

This internship is expected to be 40 hours per week, 12 weeks long and coincide with the summer break. 

 

Qualifications

Minimum Education*
High School Diploma or GED

Minimum Experience*
1 year of post-high school training

*Equivalency: 1 year of experience = 1 year of education 

Desired Qualifications

  • Interest in the field of communications
  • Experience working in an office environment
