Make The Difference is a the official global publication of Voice Up sharing extraordinary stories within everyday journeys. Founded on the core principles of collaboration, humility, precision, patience, and empathy—we create a platform where diverse voices converge to share stories of purpose, mental health, faith, leadership, and community impact across cultures and generations worldwide.
### Internship Overview
We're seeking passionate, purpose-driven students to join our Student Editorial Board. This 100% remote, 100% flexible internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a global movement while developing professional skills in publishing, editing, and content creation. As a Student Editorial Board member, you'll help shape the narrative of our publication while connecting with purpose-aligned individuals from around the world.
**Three Ways to Participate:**
All team members have the opportunity to progress towards a paid stipend as their ideas are refined and developed including the option to progress to the level of independent contactor for Voice Up sponsored for a period of 6 months to 12 months paid an hourly rate of $20 to $30 for a maximum of 15 hours per week per academic semester.
1. **Volunteer Track:** Contribute your talents while building valuable leadership experience and expanding your network. Perfect for those seeking to make an impact alongside other commitments.
2. **Academic Credit:** Earn credit at your institution while leading real-world change. We'll work with your school's specific requirements to ensure the experience meets academic guidelines.
3. **Paid Fellowship:** Selected candidates with strong social impact project proposals may receive stipends of $500-$750 monthly. These opportunities are secured case-by-case through partnerships between Voice Up and potential sponsors. Requires commitment to a 3-4 month specific project.

**Position Type:** Remote internship (for academic credit or volunteer basis)

### Responsibilities
* Review and evaluate submissions across our publication sections
* Participate in weekly virtual editorial meetings
* Contribute content for at least one section per quarter
* Collaborate with global contributors to refine and strengthen their stories
* Help identify emerging voices and perspectives for future issues
* Assist with social media content development and community engagement
* Support the preparation for our annual Global Stories of Purpose Conference
### Qualifications
* Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Passion for storytelling and purpose-driven content
* Interest in global perspectives and diverse experiences
* Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment
* Self-motivated with strong time management skills
* Experience in writing, editing, publishing, or journalism preferred but not required
