### Internship Overview
The Community Outreach Intern will provide crucial support to our Community Enrollment Specialist in developing partnerships with nonprofit organizations and community-based entities serving underrepresented populations. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community engagement, partnership development, and purpose-driven education while working in a fully remote, flexible environment that accommodates your schedule and other commitments.
### Key Responsibilities
- Assist in researching potential community organizations for partnerships (YMCAs, United Way chapters, faith communities, local nonprofits, schools)
- Help develop and maintain a database of community contacts and partnership opportunities
- Support the creation of outreach materials tailored to different community audiences
- Assist in planning and coordinating virtual information sessions for community partners
- Monitor and analyze social media engagement with targeted community organizations
- Help prepare presentations and reports on community outreach initiatives
- Contribute to tracking metrics and outcomes from community partnership efforts
- Participate in virtual meetings with community partners as appropriate
- Provide administrative support for the enrollment process of community members
- Document success stories from community partnerships for use in future outreach
### Qualifications
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program (any field of study welcome)
- Passion for community engagement and serving underrepresented populations
- Strong digital communication skills and comfort with virtual collaboration tools
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Interest in purpose-driven education and personal development

- Experience with or connection to diverse communities preferred
- Basic proficiency with digital tools (spreadsheets, presentation software, video conferencing)
- Social media experience a plus

**Three Ways to Participate:**
All team members have the opportunity to progress towards a paid stipend as their ideas are refined and developed including the option to progress to the level of independent contactor for Voice Up sponsored for a period of 6 months to 12 months paid an hourly rate of $20 to $30 for a maximum of 15 hours per week per academic semester.
1. **Volunteer Track:** Contribute your talents while building valuable leadership experience and expanding your network. Perfect for those seeking to make an impact alongside other commitments.
2. **Academic Credit:** Earn credit at your institution while leading real-world change. We'll work with your school's specific requirements to ensure the experience meets academic guidelines.
3. **Paid Fellowship:** Selected candidates with strong social impact project proposals may receive stipends of $500-$750 monthly. These opportunities are secured case-by-case through partnerships between Voice Up and potential sponsors. Requires commitment to a 3-4 month specific project.
