Eligibility criteria:
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program with a graduation date in 2026 or 2027.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
- 10-week commitment for 40 hours per week with availability to start June 9th, 2025.
- Must be able to commute to the office to work at least 3 days onsite.
Position Summary:
Step into the frontlines of cybersecurity as an Information Security Intern. In this role, you will actively contribute to safeguarding critical systems by assisting in the development and enforcement of security policies, conducting risk assessments, and monitoring systems for potential threats. You’ll gain hands-on experience participating in incident response drills, investigating security incidents, and maintaining security software and hardware. With opportunities to stay updated on emerging cyber threats and collaborate with diverse teams, you’ll play a vital role in promoting a culture of security awareness. Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Conducting risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Participating in incident response exercises and drills.
- Monitoring and analyzing security logs and alerts to detect suspicious activity.
- Performing regular backups and maintenance of security-related software and hardware.
- Assisting in the investigation and resolution of security incidents.
- Staying current with emerging security threats and trends, and sharing this knowledge with the rest of the team.
- Providing support and guidance to end-users on security-related issues.
- Participating in ongoing training and professional development to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
- Collaborating with other departments to promote a culture of security awareness and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Education path and strong interest in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology or similar equivalent.
- Familiarity with Cybersecurity concept frameworks (e.g.) NIST, ISO 270001) preferred.
- Experience with visualization tool, such as Confluence, preferred.
- Strong ability to execute technical research and technical writing.
- Strong written communication, time management, and organization skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information with discretion, MUST HAVE.
