Job Description:
SK Siltron CSS has a unique opportunity at our Bay City, MI site for a Supply Chain Intern for the summer of 2025. This role will be responsible for leveraging AI technology to enhance the material planning process, improving accuracy in demand forecasting, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring seamless coordination with suppliers.
Project Summary:
Material planning is a critical function in manufacturing and supply chain management, involving the coordination of materials required for production to ensure timely delivery and optimal inventory levels. Traditional material planning methods often rely on historical data and manual processes, which can lead to inefficiencies, stockouts, overstocking, and increased operational costs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Implement an AI-driven material planning system that includes the following features:
- AI powered demand forecasting by utilizing machine learning algorithms to analyze historical data, market trends, and external factors to generate accurate demand forecasts
- Implement AI-based inventory management tools to maintain optimal inventory levels, reducing the risk of stockouts and overstocking.
- Develop a real-time communication platform powered by AI to enhance coordination and collaboration with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials.
- Use AI to analyze production schedules and resource availability, optimizing the allocation of materials and resources to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Improve forecast accuracy

Physical Requirements:
S-Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Sophomore or later student in B.S program for Industrial engineering, Supply Chain Management or Materials Management related degree.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with MS office.
